In 1983 I got my first Birman cat who moved in to accompany my familys's house cat. The Birman was sealpoint and called PR&GIC FIN*Birlinca-Exotic-Flower, known as "Kukka". She was also the one to give birth to the first FIN*Downy-Flower's -litter, which was registered by me and my mother (Helena and Pirjo Asumaa) in 1985.
Twenty years later in 2003 FIN*Downy-Flower's breeding became registered to my name (Helena Takari), as the breeding had become solely my hobby. My mother is still a great cat lover and my parents have two of my Birmans living with them. Today the FIN*Downy-Flower's kittens get to grow in our house in Nummi-Pusula (situated 55 kilometres west of Helsinki). Now my family consists of me and my Birmans, my husband and our two lovely children; son and daughter. All my Birmans are descendants of my first Birman "Kukka".
Annually, I have 1-2 litter and the colours are sealpoint, bluepoint, seal tabbypoint and blue tabbypoint. Before arriving at their loving homes, kittens will be registered, vaccinated twice, their blood groups will be tested and they will have an official health certificate. Kittens have also a micro chip.
In my breeding, I focus on the cats' type and Birman look. Also health and good social character are of great importance to me. Every kitten is a unique and loved little individual. This is also why I want to maintain both the number of my cats and my breeding in such a small scale.
